Pineview K8 Elementary School
Crestview, Florida
Watford Engineering provided mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the new 200,000 square foot Pineview Elementary School in Crestview.
The HVAC design included a four-pipe, water-cooled central plant with high-efficiency chillers and condensing boilers, serving variable air volume air handling units with reheat terminal units and digital controls. The plumbing systems were designed to support school operations and included low-consumption fixtures, a full commercial kitchen, and associated gas and domestic water heating systems. Fire protection design consisted primarily of wet-pipe sprinkler systems, with dry-pipe systems serving the covered outdoor dining areas.
A portion of the facility was designed to function as an Enhanced Hurricane Protection Area (EHPA) shelter in accordance with applicable codes and district requirements.
